This photo here is of Hong Kong harbour, the ponds you can see are actually the process of land reclamation, that has been going on for over a century. This photo has been taken from the looking towards the east of the harbour. This information comes with the assistance of
Wanchai Walk Thank-you to
kennethU94 from Twitter for the help!
The third photo down with what looks like a rack and pinion train, wonder if it is a town on the edge of Lake Geneva.
ReplyDeleteAndrew - you may be right - I'm trying to locate a similiar picture, once you said lake, I looked deeper into the photo and realised that there did appear to be a shore line in the background. Now the question is - is it a shore line of a lake OR is it the curving shoreline of a land mass?
ReplyDeleteBut the rack and pinion comment holds true - from the and construction.
Thank-you
Unfortunately, I don't think any of these were taken in Hong Kong.
ReplyDeleteThe first photo does look like a bit like the Wanchai reclamation, but the houses and background don't look right. Here's a view after the reclamation was finished http://gwulo.com/node/1188
You can see the houses are in neat terraces, and Kowloon is visible in the background.

ReplyDeleteBut thanks to your assistance and and Andrews input a location HAS been identified and many questions answered.
