The Fjordes of Norway c1970 - Kirkenes

These photos were salvaged from another skip about 2 years ago. I have identified the photos as being Norway, The seven Sisters and Kirkenes, taken c1970 when the previous owner was on a cruise through the area.

This is the Shell refinery which I believe is on the coastline at Kirkenes. happy to be corrected if that is not the case.

This ship is the Kong Olav, built in 1968, there was rescue mission in 2012 to get the ship back to Norwegian shores. I'm not sure how it all went.

This is a postcard, which reads "Norway Lapps on the River"

This is a postcard which reads "Norway, View of the town"

This is a postcard, which reads "Norway, Part of the town with the church"

This is a postcard which reads "Norway, Vaso church from the year 1958"

"The Seven Sisters" (as advised by writing on the back of the photo)

"Through the Fjords" (as advised by writing on the back of the photo)

This is a postcard which reads "Nord-Halogaland stiftsgard til hoyre for Kirken"

It's amazing (and disappointing) to see what gets thrown out.

If you have any deceased estate photos and would like them to be forever memorialised, I'll do it here for you, or better still what don't you?

100 Year Old Photos - Australia, The Grampians

These photos as part of this collection, they have been block mounted on card, they are speckled with age - but for 100year old photos - I suppose that is to be expected.

The above photo is of "The Wonderland Peak" 2250ft above sea level, within the National Park.

This photo is of "The Pinnacle" which is 2250ft above sea level. I believe both photos to have been taken by someone by the name of Roger, connected somehow to the James Family. Who's photo albums these belong to. If you would like to see the other photos in the collection, please follow this link. Photos from all over the world, the sub-continent, Europe between the wars. Some photos unidentified. So any help appreciated and you would be attributed with having identified the relevant photos. Australia Europe Hong Kong Unidentified Aboard the SS Otranto Enjoy

100 Year Old Postcards & Album - Australia

Below is an old Potcard album - dating back to c1904, belonging to Ethel James The postcards remaining in the album are also below.
I would love to know what this postcard is of - it says 'Roseville' but no other location is provided. I'm assuming Australia

The below inscription was written on the back of the Manly Postcard, seems to indicate that the James family was involved in horse training, riding or owning and made some good money, if the round the world trip is any indication.

Enjoy

c1904, Melbourne
