Who do you call?

Today was ONE of 'those' days, tough day at work, leg not behaving and I had an appointment that I had to keep at the local shopping centre.

So off I trundle and lo and behold - cars parked everywhere and OF COURSE no parking within easy walking distance of the front door of the centre and .......... numerous cars parked in permit ONLY bays, WITHOUT permits.

So I proceed to take photos of several vehicles.

Photos all taken at Epping Plaza, at 3.38pm TODAY the 5th March 2013

XHR-045 - Parking in Px2 Parking - No permit visible

YOU-243 - Parking in Px2 Parking - No permit visible (green line denote the Px2 parking; the blue ford next door is the one featured above)

SRN-260 - Parking in a 'blue' disabled bay - no permit visible

WSV-311 - Parking in a 'blue' disabled bay - no permit visible

Now this thug - deserves a little more than a byline, he attacked me, threatened to smash my phone and did hit my hand. Intervention by a lovely biker, (my angel in dark leather) preventing the parking deviant from taking taking further aggressive action. (BTW - He was a HUGE guy, both tall and wide) and had obviously used his size in the past to intimidate people and get his own way.

His excuse - My mum is renewing her permit inside???????????????

Ummm - NO - Permits for disabled parking are issued from council offices NOT shopping centres.

I leave the scene, to avoid further confrontation, walking about 200m and sitting down on public seating INSIDE the shopping centre. Noting that the person IN the vehicle DID NOT follow me inside at this stage.

5 minutes later I am being verbally abused, I look up and realise it is the same *cough* gentleman that physically assaulted me before, this time he had a baby on his hip and a mouthy girlfriend/wife in tow. They both started to verbally abuse me. Two rent-a-cops were nearby, I called them over, they reluctantly came over and intervened. Basically said 'you won't park there again, will you?' Not a word to me and then wandered off.

How can ANYONE DO anything when people are quite happy to assault people, simply because the honest people in world point out that perhaps the parking offenders inadvertently parked in disabled bay without realising?

Makes me realise that some people PURPOSELY park in these bays, simply because it's convenient FOR THEM.............

Previous posts on the same subject - photos included NO Permit No Park

Don't suggest I call someone:-
Police - It's private property,
Council - We will send someone when we can
Centre Management - We can't do anything
Rent-A-Cops - IF they speak English, have no desire to get involved

SO WHO DO YOU CALL?

Why do I bother taking photos of people parking in disabled bays without permits?

They are breaking the law.

Simple question, simple answer………. They are breaking the law and in the process making my life along with countless others, more painful, tiring and leaving us wanting to retreat from life.

Today I was asked the question, am I disabled? My answer,  I'm broken, I can’t walk properly and sometimes my legs don’t always work properly, so I trip and stumble when I get tired.

Why? Because of several accidents that were not of my doing have resulted in much soft tissue damage throughout my body, a permanently broken fibula in my right leg, bad arthritis in left leg, caused because of the strain it takes and recently discovered broken ribs that have healed in such a way that cause me immense pain sometimes.

You can read about some of the incidents here if you can be bothered:-

So todays photos…………..

300m walk of hell............ (again)

Woe is me, Pity for me.............. I need to be carried......

FFS that's NOT what I want........ I just can't walk 300m somedays without a great deal of pain and the reason I have to walk 300m......... is because people like this............................

Park where they shouldn't............................................
(Photo taken at Whittlesea, at playground in Church St at 12pm on Saturday 30th March 2013)

and the people at the newsagency wouldn't be asking if I was okay and why were my hands shaking. I don't like relying on other people, it's not fair on them, they too have lives to live and don't need me as a millstone around their neck. But how can I be self-reliant and a contributing member to society if I am in more pain than normal because of people like this?

I had already driven around the block two times, to try and locate a closer parking spot, but it was Easter Saturday, you would think people had been starving since Thursday the way they were acting :(

What can be done?

I know Alica and her website and the media attention she is getting is helping, but is it enough?

Here are some previous experiences I have experienced personally, including video footage in one instance :(

Laziness is not a disability........... Post infinity

I have been running my own little personal crusade for years, but someone has taken it to a whole new level!

That someone is Alica Wright of Queensland.......... her website is No Permit No Park

I highly commend her efforts and blimey it's an effort well and truly overdue, for those in wheelchairs, for those 'not quite right' people on their feet, for those that need that parking permits, to do the shopping or even get their hair cut. Simple things for the able-bodied person, but tiring and painful for many people who require permits.

Here is today contribution from me:-

6.44pm Thursday, 28th March 2013, at North Epping, Woolworths.

The driver has clearly parked here, knowing this space is set aside for people with mobility issues, (unless he is blind) the front view clearly shows no permit...............

I will keep trying, I will keep posting - but how do you get through to these people? Predominantly young males

Here are previous offenders, mostly taken in the northern suburbs of Melbourne

I am over it

All I wanted was some cat food, so my cat had something to eat tonight, instead I end up shaking with pain and thinking why the hell did I even try to be 'normal'

I was forced to walk a further 160 steps (big deal you say) because 'someone' who represents Australia Post decided to park in a permit zone.

Big deal you say - 160 steps? Anyone can do that - well guess what - on a bad day I can't.

I was FORCED to walk UP and DOWN a gutter to get to the front door, on the footpath, if that had been someone in a wheelchair - they would have had to brave traffic in a car park and below the eyesight of a driver to access a ramp that allows THEM to access the footpath. Accident imminent.

I am shaking with pain, which means more painkillers, which means that I stress my kidney and liver out because of someone selfish idiot, who would only be there for 5 minutes.

See what ONLY 5 MINUTES CAN DO?

Please consider those of us in society, who try to be productive, who try to be self-reliant, those of us who have no-one else to help us.

STOP PARKING IN PERMIT ZONES, UNLESS YOU HAVE a VALID permit.

And YES I did check the vehicle dashboard and NO there was no permit - I didn't take the dashboard photo, although I should have.

I hope Australia Post take some action, but unlikely unless I complain directly and then I will be forced to jump through hoops to make a complaint.

Is this the image @austpost wants to convey? Epping north woo... on Twitpic

A thought did cross  my mind that this vehicle may have been onsold, but either or it carries the Australia Post logo and colours and ultimately conveys a very poor message

Same place, taken on the 9th march 2013, about the same time
(I even spoke to the driver, he didn't move)

Even though i spoke to you, you didnt move #StupidityIsNotADi... on Twitpic

Other such incidents - dating back to March 2012 and prior - The one in March 2012 made me realise how many people thinks it'okay' to park wherever they feel like it - as long as THEY are not inconvenienced :(

Laziness is Not A Disability

I’m not brave, I’m not particularly outspoken, although some people will disagree. I avoid confrontation like the plague. I dislike people doing the wrong thing, either legally or morally.
After an accident involving a 12t truck and my car some 15yrs prior.  Followed by a horse collapsing on me and permanently breaking the fibula in my right leg. I have difficulties getting around. Especially when it comes to shopping centres and their slippery floors. I still manage to work most of the time, so you can’t call me lazy. I just have problems walking most of the time, let alone staying up right.

I can’t lock myself up forever and I can’t rely on my husband to do everything, so I venture out. More often than not, it seems that people think it’s okay to park in handicapped spots, that it’s okay to only stop for 1-2 minutes. They couldn’t care less. They really couldn’t.

Here is one encounter, after 3 days of not being able to park in these two spots, because there is ALWAYS been someone parked there ILLEGALLY. NO PERMIT.

I’m over it – why must I and countless others suffer because of selfish irresponsible people like this?

So this is what happened. Registration of said vehicle is (VIC) YJQ-548

**Please note the reference to 'registration' is actually parking permit and its non-presence on said vehicle.

This 'gentleman' was aware he was being videoed, yet made no apologies, nor did he offer to move, In fact 10 minutes later, was still in exactly the place, with his girlfriend sitting beside him, almost in defiance.

Laziness is Not a Disability

Once again I present the idiots of the world, who think that rules laws and common decency don't belong to them.

This photo was taken at Edwards Lake, Reservoir, on the 3rd October 2012, The offender, parked BETWEEN the disables parking, right over the access walkway, which means that anyone in a wheelchair is FORCED to climb the gutter.

TAL-765 (Vic)

This photo was taken at Epping plaza on the 20th October 2012, in the P2 parking zone, which is a zone for people who have trouble walking, but don't require extra room to get in and out of vehicles.

QLC-944 (Vic)

The following vehicle, shows the front and rear of said offender to show no disabled permit and also that they must be blind because the wheelchair is quite clearly visible. Photo taken on the 21st October 2012, at 4pm at the Laurimar Woolworths, in Doreen.  PAL-782 (Vic)

Now this is why it is so frustrating. The below photo was taken at exactly the same time at the set above, 4pm on the 21st October 2012. Same location. So 2 of the 3 spaces available for people with mobility issues are taken by able-bodied people This person can't be too able-bodied because I say they are blind. :(

Laziness is not a disability

Once again in Melbourne it's wet, it's raining and the footpaths and white lines are slippery, especially for those using crutches, wheelchairs and sticks.

I nearly came unstuck thanks to the following people, who were parked, where I am LEGALLY allowed to park, but because they were ILLEGALLY parked I could not, consequently I nearly fell on the return to my car, some 50m FURTHER away.

This was at Northlands Shopping Centre, in Preston, Victoria, on the 3rd June 2012 at 9.15pm. So if you know any of the these morons, tell them their registrations have been photographed and noted for public viewing!

Watch for more photos of more morons as the days turn into weeks, which turn into years.

if you'd like to add disabled parking infringement photos, pleases feel free!

Laziness is not a Disability

Once again, Melbourne weather is throwing its best at its residents, it's cold, it's wet and selfish pricks park in handicapped spots, because they don't want to get wet.

Here is the proof - EVERY single vehicleparked illegally, located at Epping Plaza. Friday night the 25th May 2012.

4.11pm - Friday the 25th May 2012 - Parked in a P2 zone, which is for those that can walk, just have difficulties  (Catergory 2 parking permit)

4.12pm - Friday the 25th May 2012 - Parked in a P2 zone, which is for those that can walk, just have difficulties (Catergory 2 parking permit)

4.12pm - Friday the 25th May 2012 - Parked in a P2 zone, which is for those that can walk, just have difficulties  (Catergory 2 parking permit)

4.13pm - Friday the 25th May 2012 - Parked in a Blue zone, for those requiring wheelchairs or complicated walking aids  (Catergory 1 Parking Permit) **2 mentions - see below

5.19pm - Friday the 25th May 2012 -  Parked in a Blue zone, for those requiring wheelchairs or complicated walking aids (Catergory 1 Parking Permit) **2 mentions - see above

5.20pm - Friday the 25th May 2012 - Parked in a P2 zone, which is for those that can walk, just have difficulties (Catergory 2 parking permit)

If you know any of these registrations - I hope YOU tell them that stupidity is NOT a disability and when their mother/father/child or friend NEEDS one of these spots and they are filled with able-bodied people, watch them get abusive.
NONE OF THESE Vehicles were displaying permits, so were parking there against all regulations, tied to these permits. No permit visible, NO PARKING there.

Google is a dirty word

Once upon a time I had a Google Adwords account, well not that long ago, actually, the 16th March 2012. Google Adsense decided that I had violated their rules by ‘posing a risk of generating invalid activity.'

You want to know what I did?

I published a funny email titled “Where did Piss Poor come From?” The email isn’t the problem, it’s the traffic it generates that is! About 700 hits a month, from the Stumble on Network which is a sharing site, blogs and news etc, from what I can determine.

It’s not StumbleOn’s fault. The fault lies squarely with the Google Adsense.

See I’d had that account since 2009 and was about $2.00 away from actually collecting my revenue...... a WHOLE $50.00 WHOOP WHOOP.

To me, it wasn’t revenue, either earned or unearned, Google Adwords, seems to allow complete garbage on some sites, and then screws down on others. I have 3 blogs and 1 website, all were connected to the same account. Suddenly all sites were without ‘income’ (Remember I don’t call it revenue.)

I believe the trigger was the fact I was ABOUT to collect MY $50 of UNEARNT Income.

Yes, INCOME. A silent earner, that I never thought I would actually see, but was amazed to slowly watch the total climb higher and higher.

I always knew I would never see a cent of anything. I mean we are talking about Google here, the same Google that just opened up in direct competition to Dropbox. But Google in their wisdom have decided that ANY file loaded onto THEIR network, becomes THEIR file.

See Google thinks they own the world. But public opinion, public demand and the need for privacy, dictates the world, NOT Google

A product is only a product if you pay for it – if you don’t pay for it – YOU ARE the PRODUCT.

Remember that, and remember that ANY company offering something for nothing, only has their best interests at heart, not yours.

I did try to appeal the decision, but remember Google think they own the world, doubtful they even bothered reading the appeal, hell just like them, I too was ‘just going through the processes’

So be warned, You are the product, if you haven’t paid for anything!

"Are you Disabled?".................

Today I stood in shock as I was abused by a self-righteous Bitch (yes B****) who believes that she is entitled to park in handicapped parking spot because she has parked there for 3 years (So she claims)

Unfortunately I require a stick to walk any sort of distance and crutches for anything over about 500m and especially if the ground is uneven.

This woman (refer female dog) harassed me – repeating the words, ‘Are you disabled?’ ‘Are you disabled?’ ‘Are you disabled?’ ‘Are you disabled?’ ‘Are you disabled?’ ‘Are you disabled?’ ‘Are you disabled?’ ‘Are you disabled?’ ‘Are you disabled?’ ‘Are you disabled?’

Not once or twice, but multiple times. All I said to her was, “are you aware this is a permit zone?’ meaning handicapped parking and she lays into me like no tomorrow.

Claiming she had been parking there for 3 years (I can guarantee NOT) and getting very abusive in the process. I KNOW she hasn’t been parking there for 3 years, because I’ve been working here off and on for 9 years and have not yet photographed THAT car, parked illegally in the handicapped parking area.

What makes this even harder to understand is; she is a HEALTH CARE WORKER ON HOSPITAL GROUNDS……………….

NOW…….. If the shoe had been on the other foot – i.e. her mother or father, God help ANYONE who got in her way.

More and more frequently I find that people feel they are ‘entitled’ to do whatever they please, whenever they please, to whomever they please, just because they can. I’m not just talking about handicapped parking, I’m talking about lines at supermarkets, disabled toilets,  at doctors clinics, at fuel bowsers and even whilst in the presence of their children! It's happening everywhere that the public are forced to interact with one another.

Please feel free to share you story.

I am completely over the entitled few that are making my world a horrible place to interact in, because you never know when someone will attack you with words, fists or even weapons.

Have you come across similar instances, have you been abused like this? Do you have a story/ies, you’d like to share?

This is todays offender
This is the offender car fromt his morning, blog post to follow on Twitpic

There are some past offenders, both on and off hospital grounds.

Don’t Judge that Book by its Cover

A couple of 20yo’s walk into a well-established well-known restaurant, they have been there before, they have been there many times before.

They are treated like royalty. The always order the most expensive dishes, they always order cocktails. They are nicely dressed in tailored clothing.

They always pay the bill

That restaurant earnt the fees they charged for the meals and the services provided.

The same 20yo couple walk into a fine-dining establishment in a tourist area. They wish to see the menu before they take a seat. A verbal enquiry was made about the availability of one item on the menu.

The maƮtre de enquired as to how the couple would be paying and then stated that no meals would be ordered unless a down payment was made.

This was down-right insulting and said couple walked out of the place.

Now these two incidents, occurred to the same couple, within weeks of each other. One establishment has ensured that the couple return. The other establishment has ensured that not only will the couple NOT return to that restaurant, but also ensured that the couple will not return to the area and will not recommend either the area or the restaurant.

To business owners out there, and I mean ALL business owners out there, never ever judge a book by its cover. It could cost you and business’s in your area cold hard cash.

Barking mad

Set the scene – Rural average, 11 houses in total, every house has dog(s). Everyone is pretty happy with their lot in life.

One house seems to attract all the dogs in the street, be it big dogs or small dogs – they all end up at the house at some time during the day. Being fed and generally just rolling around on the back door step until the owners come home and then the dogs disperse!

There is a new couple on the street, the dogs are treated like children, birthday cakes when they turn of age etc. Some of us dog lovers think they are mad.

Imagine a long weekend, Imagine from a property emits the sounds of barking dogs, not for 1-2 hours, not for 8 hours but for the entire 72 hours, dogs bark.

It is not the Bassett, it’s not the Springer Spaniel, it’s not the German Shepherd, it’s not the Bitzer or the Boxer. It’s not the Jack Russell nor the Blue Heeler or the Rottweiler. It’s the two ‘Children’ they have been left alone, left alone is something they are not used to, it is something foreign to them. They are not used to amusing themselves, they are not used to not being doted upon. They are not used to being locked out of the house.

They are driving everyone in the street mad. They bark day and night, they bark night and day. They bark without stopping. I pity the people next door to them. Their bedroom is less than 20m away from the kennels. My bedroom is perhaps 100m from the kennels. The people in the valley 4 doors down ring me and ask which dogs are barking?

It had got to the stage that a mutiny was declared. A poison pen letter was composed and dropped in the mail box.

They get home, they take offense at said letter, they decide the street is the enemy.

The noise continues, the neighbours move out because of the noise. They are burgled and because they have ostracised the street are unable to ask if we, the neighbours saw anything. They can’t even ask the neighbours to collect the mail now – they have to pay someone to do that.

If you have dogs, it’s fine to treat them like children. But if you treat them children, that means they will behave like children. You don’t leave Children unattended for 3 days straight do you?

Think of your neighbours, think of yourself. In times of need, you need your neighbours. Do not ostracise those that may one day be useful

Take it from someone who knows! **wink**
