This is a marble/granite ball, floating on water. spinning and absoutely brilliant to look at, but for me the brillance this day was the refelctions held with the artwork. Look at the gum tree, beautiful. Photo taken at the Melbourne Flower and Garden show on the 31st March 2012

Here what looks like an overgrown dam, is actually what appears to be a natural water pool up in Mt Disappointment, which is to the North of Melbourne. Could be seen from one side of approach, but not the other. Had to double back to take this photo. Photo taken 12th March 2012

An Orb Spider, had made herself comfortable in the vegetable patch. Took less than two days to set the huge web up. You can see it below. Don't let looks deceive you. This spider was almost hand-size. Makes me shudder! Photo taken 7th April 2012

Baby Spider, Baby Spider, where art thou? A baby spider being taught the method of eating a butterfly, along with his brothers and sisters. Taken 8th January 2012

How many baby spiders can YOU count? To take this photo, I had to get closer than I really wanted to, but I did it for you! Taken 8th January 2012

Mummy spider hangs onto the butterfly before it gets 'affixed' to the leaves for later on. Notice the adult legs on the right hand side? Taken 8th January 2012

Baby, Baby. I see far too many spiders for my liking, they are so small......... It's horrible to think they will grow into 2-5cm 'giants' soon Taken 8th January 2012

The butterfly is now duly attached the underside of the leave and the adult spider has disappeared. I'm not sure I want to imagine exactly what is going on! Taken the 8th January 2012.

Spider Spider on the Wall - Badge (Huntsman) Spider

This spider has been identified as a Badge Spider - as per the Musuem of Victoria Site.
Badge (Huntsman) Spider Scientific name Neosparassus diana - Scary stuff!

Last night just before the rains started falling in Victoria I saw this spider on my window.

Normally I don't pay much attention to spiders, I have a leave me alone, I'll leave you alone policy. But this was plain weird.

I first thought it was an albino Huntsmans spider, but the body shape was wrong.

Then when I photographed the underneath - it glowed.

Can you identify this spider?
